I totally agree with everything you wrote, and will look forward to hearing you discuss these books at the next SFBX meeting!

And I'm looking forward to the films too, but I know they won't be able to touch the experience of reading the books.Susan Tunishttp://inoneeyeouttheother.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3354429728039534096.post-71586100025113995912011-09-09T14:16:21.650-07:002011-09-09T14:16:21.650-07:00Susan!!! I just finished reading the trilogy and I...Susan!!! I just finished reading the trilogy and I am in such a stupor - I have been held hostage of the Hunger Games world for the past week when I read all 3 books and have not been able to sleep until I've read the whole trilogy. I love the fact that in talking with other people who have read this series, we all share one thing - we are reading this way beyond our sleeping hours, because it's just too good to put down. I am so looking forward to the movie next year, and I hope it doesn't disappoint.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12314135874322294123noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3354429728039534096.post-50556975312604781452010-09-16T07:05:57.316-07:002010-09-16T07:05:57.316-07:00I just read this Tuesday night - couldn't go t...I just read this Tuesday night - couldn't go to stitching, so read instead. It was the same for me - couldn't put it down, but since I started at 8:30pm, I was only up to about 1am - perfectly reasonable, if a bit later than my usual.
Anyways - I enjoyed Mockingjay a tremendous amount. I admire what the author did with all the characters - I felt she really stayed true to watching the original people develop over time, and a very traumatic time as well. I really liked that Katniss, while being the poster child (literally) for the rebellion, didn't suddenly turn into some uber-take charge persona who becomes the rebel leader. I was surprised at the outcomes for various characters - no way was I expecting what happened to some of them, but that is a further testament to her depiction of the war - any war - you just can't predict the outcomes/effects of war on individuals.
I liked your review - come see me on Goodreads sometime! = )
Just saw your email - looking forward to seeing you Tuesday night! Safe travels!Carolyn in VAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12232962483842217280noreply@blogger.com
